In an effort to give thanks by giving back to our community, we decided to do something a little different this year. Instead of having a potluck Thanksgiving dinner, we asked our employees to bring non-perishable food items and a new unwrapped toy for the Tennessee Valley Outreach, a Christian nonprofit relief organization located in Decatur, Alabama. Their goal is to offer assistance to those who are homeless, hungry, hurting and hopeless by coming to their aid and providing for each person’s unique individual needs.
This is the only shelter in the Tennessee Valley that welcomes the homeless AND THEIR CHILDREN during crisis events. This is the last shelter in our area that takes children. Their greatest need is for food and toys. Magnolia River employees donated about eight large boxes of food and over 60 new toys! Several folks also volunteered their time and vehicles to transport the items to the Outreach this morning. We would like to thank our employees for continuously donating their time, talents, and treasures to help those less fortunate in our area.
On behalf of Magnolia River, I would like to wish our clients, employees, friends, and their families a Happy Thanksgiving.
