We are off to see the Wizard…

Jonathan Frazier on Thursday, 22 October 2015.

Fall is always a magical time of the year. The nip in the air signals school is back in session, bragging rights of Friday night football games begin, friends and family come together for Saturday tailgating extravaganzas, and we switch from shorts to sweaters.

This also has been a magical time at Magnolia River. We hired a Director of Training and Operational Support, opened an office in Charlotte, NC, and hosted a “Wizard of Oz” themed christening of our new corporate headquarters. So follow along as we peak behind the curtain and introduce you to the exciting changes.

Kim Anderson joins Magnolia River as Director of Training and Operational Support with more than 18 years of dual fuel utility experience. Her background includes business development, outreach and education, project management, program development, and implementation of multiple training initiatives. Additionally, she worked alongside industry experts on numerous initiatives to promote the efficient use of energy across the United States.

As Director of Training and Operational Support, Ms. Anderson is responsible for managing client-focused training programs. Additionally, Kim will support internal employee training and development, as well as the Operations group through strategic planning and project management.

Daniel Cook, PMP, PE is an Engineering Department Manager with 12 years’ experience as a civil engineer. He recently opened Magnolia River’s Charlotte, NC office as another big step in our expansion. Mr. Cook has been the engineer of record, leading natural gas and utility projects, throughout his 5 years with Magnolia River. His managerial responsibilities include day-to-day engineering services, work assignments, project management, budgeting, and staff development. Projects include cast iron and bare steel replacement, linear pipeline design, HDD/JAB design, constructability review, M&R station design, and sub-consultant coordination. Additionally, Mr. Cook develops engineering classroom material and teaches project management classes as he grows the Charlotte office.

Engineering, inspection, and mapping, Oh my!! On September 18th Magnolia River celebrated Somewhere Over the Rainbow with a “Wizard of Oz” themed christening of our new corporate headquarters at 408 Bank Street in historic downtown Decatur, Alabama. Over 75 members of the Decatur community welcomed us into their family amidst the festivities of munchkins, red ruby slippers, and wonderful food. We were blessed by the outpouring of support, compliments on the building’s renovations, and hometown hospitality. While we’ve worked really hard on and in the building, we enjoy walking to local eateries, partaking in after-hours events, and intermingling with our new friends in Decatur. A special thank you to Rev. Jimmy Bassham, Mayor Don Kyle, members of the Chamber of Commerce, Ashley’s Creative Catering, local business owners, and all of our family and friends who welcomed us to our “new” 90-year-old home!
