Mr. Laney first started in the natural gas industry in 2002 as a Draftsman with Magnolia River, ultimately progressing to Project Manager. In 2005, Mr. Laney left to pursue a career in the foundry industry, serving as Metallurgical Engineer of steel pipe/tube manufacturing company. In 2010, Mr. Laney joined Fontaine, a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary. Starting as an Engineer, he transitioned, over six years into many roles including Sourcing Lead, Project Manager, Product Manager, Manufacturing Plant Manager, and finally Director of Sales/Marketing of a startup within Berkshire Hathaway.
In August 2016, Mr. Laney rejoined the Magnolia River team as the Engineering Manager of the Decatur, Al office and was promoted to oversee the Engineering Division in January 2017. Combining his knowledge and experience from the engineering and business management fields, he offers expertise in process development, strategic planning, and personnel management to complete tasks on time and within budget.
Mr. Laney holds two degrees from The University of Alabama: a Bachelor’s of Science in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering and an MBA from the College of Business. He has managed multiple market/feasibility studies and has been awarded two patents.
