Magnolia River is a subcontractor to 4Site Incorporated.
Magnolia River was contracted to provide color aerial photography, digital planimetric and topographic mapping, and color orthophotography for a proposed building site expansion located on the Oakwood University campus, in Huntsville, Alabama.
Magnolia River provided 1”=50’ scale, one-foot contour interval planimetric and topographic mapping to support design and preconstruction aspects for a proposed new facility. The facility is proposed to house the Oakwood Adventist Academy Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. This new facility will include new classrooms, a media center, cafeteria, gymnasium, and auditorium located on the Oakwood University campus.
The use of topographic data is an intricate key to the pre-planning and estimating phases for every successful construction project. The information provided by topographic mapping is used in planning infrastructure and resource management. In addition to the digital mapping, orthophotography provides a visual reference of the actual cultural, land features, and as-built structures. Planimetric features collected from the imagery included transportation corridors, paved and unpaved roads/parking, power poles, visible utilities, water, buildings, trees or tree mass areas, and other structures.
